New Orleans

We were lucky enough to plan a quick trip to New Orleans to ring in the New Year in the midst of holiday craziness! Being the workaholics we are, we researched fabric stores in the Big Easy and came across Promenade Fabrics and boy, we were not disappointed.
Upon walking in Promenade looks like any other fabric store filled to the brim with beautiful colors and textures and a charming feeling of slight disarray. Looking around however we quickly realized that this Mom and Pop shop was not like any other, they carry the good stuff. We mean, silks, jacquards and other high end fabrics straight off the runways in France, Italy and Milan.
Naturally the most gorgeous (and expensive might I add) jumped out at us begging to be made into a couture dress. There really isn’t anything like holding a one of a kind Italian brocade that was featured in the Spring fashion shows. After exploring the shop and narrowing down to our favorites we quickly realized that our spring collection is going to color maximalist. No wonder, with all of us cooped up for the past two years during this pandemic we all need a ton of color in our lives!
You can look forward to bold floral prints, shimmering fabrics and fun silhouettes in our Spring/Summer Collection as well as a resort collection featuring bright and fresh colors.
After leaving Promenade fabrics we checked into the Omni Royal Hotel and grabbed a quick bite at The Royal House. Their Crispy Oyster Tostadas are where it’s at. Throw on some hot sauce and its the perfect snack with a cold drink while out and about in NOLA.
We enjoyed the city strolling around, windows shopping and listening to some great jazz. After eating ( and a little bit of partying too) through New Orleans we were left inspired by the charming quirkiness of the city. We hope to bring the vibrant energy of the Big Easy to this years collection, because what’s a party dress with out a little party?
